Our Day

The day at Wild Wellies has a strong framework to create a sense of security and certainty. This framework is built around the regular daily events of socially preparing food, eating together and story times. With the help of an adult, children plan the activities they wish to engage in after reflecting on their previous play and learning. Every day there are also stimulating adult led activities ready to be shared. An adult is always there to support, help and further learning, but without encroaching on the child's interests and lead.

Size and Staffing

Wild Wellies is a very small, close-knit setting with a family feel. We work with 6 children and 2 adults: a good number of children to encourage friendships; small enough to ensure close relationships. The Kindergarten is led by Alison Banks, a teacher with 25 years of experience in Early Years education. Working with her is Donna Joziatis, who has a background in community gardening and cooking, and developing play in the outdoors. We have been friends for many years and our good relationship feeds into the warmth of welcome and sense of well being at Wild Wellies. We love working with children and play outdoors.
