About us

At Wild Wellies, we play outside every day whatever the weather – in a storybook setting that enchants senses and encourages imagination.

Playing with sand, water and mud, climbing trees, exploring nature, growing food and cooking over fires, Wild Wellies is an outdoor kindergarten that gives young children wonderful experiences within a warm-hearted and supportive atmosphere.

Led by a teacher and mother with many years of early education experience, Wild Wellies is set in a beautiful natural environment close to Stirling. Although an outdoor kindergarten, with a firm belief in outside play whatever the weather, a lovely, well equipped indoor play space is available to give shelter on occasion. We care for a small number of children with a high adult/child ratio and work in close partnership with parents, to help develop the growth and happiness of your child. We create a friendly, safe, caring environment in which you can feel confidence and peace.

While childhood becomes more and more indoor, sedentary and screen driven, research shows that being outdoors improves physical and mental health, learning and happiness. In the outdoors we produce vitamin D, are more active, have lower anxiety and stress levels, focus better, even have more positive moods. Wild Wellies aims to nurture children while they learn the importance of nurturing the world around them. To foster in them a lifelong love of nature that will be a foundation element in a happy future.

Wild Wellies is open 8 am to 5.30 pm on weekdays. We care for children from 2 years to school age. We are open 47 weeks of the year, closed for the school Christmas and New Year holidays, Easter week, and the first two weeks of the school summer holidays.

Wild Wellies is registered with The Care Inspectorate and Stirling Council as an approved setting which can accept childcare vouchers given to all 3 to 5 year olds.
